Child safety standards
Last updated: 2 October 2026
Pinfolk is a social app for adults (18+) to find and host plans near them. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and the sexualisation of minors. These standards describe what we prohibit, how we prevent and detect it, how to report it and how we work with authorities.
1. Who can use Pinfolk
Pinfolk is only for people aged 18 or over. We ask for the year of birth at sign-up and refuse accounts under 18. Accounts found to belong to minors are removed. Hosts must not admit anyone under 18 to a plan unless a parent or guardian is responsible for them.
2. What is prohibited
- Any sexual content involving a minor, real or fictional, including drawings and AI-generated imagery.
- Grooming: building a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes, on Pinfolk or arranged through it.
- Sextortion, trafficking, or offering, requesting or sharing CSAM, including links or coded references.
- Sexualised comments about minors, and plans, groups or communities that target or sexualise minors.
Breaking these rules leads to immediate and permanent removal from Pinfolk and, where the law requires it, a report to the authorities. There are no warnings.
3. How we prevent and detect it
- Reporting everywhere. Every post, story, comment, message, plan, group and profile can be reported in two taps, with a dedicated Child safety reason that is prioritised for review.
- Blocking. Any user can block another; blocked people cannot see or contact each other.
- Human review. Reports go to a moderation team that can remove content, suspend or ban accounts and preserve evidence.
- Private media. Photos and videos are stored in private buckets and are only visible to people the author shares them with.
4. How to report
In the app: open the content or profile → ⋯ → Report → Child safety. Reports are confidential; the reported person is not told who reported them.
By email: safety@pinfolkapp.com. You can report without having a Pinfolk account.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first (112 in the EU, 999 in Ireland and the UK, 911 in the US).
5. What happens with a report
- Child safety reports are reviewed as a priority, normally within 24 hours.
- Confirmed CSAE content is removed and the account is permanently banned.
- We preserve the relevant data and report confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and, where required, to national authorities such as An Garda Síochána in Ireland and law enforcement in the user's country, in line with applicable law.
- We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
6. Compliance
Pinfolk complies with applicable child safety laws, including the EU Digital Services Act and the laws of the countries where the app is available, and with Google Play's and Apple's child safety policies.
